Historic Flecks Hut Horse Ride:
A perfect  way to enjoy the diverse high country scenery of a New Zealand high country sheep station.
Traverse the hills as you make your way to historic Flecks Hut.  Follow a narrow bush track, amid an abundance of ferns and shrubbery, the tall beech trees towering above.  Awaiting you at Flecks Hut is a hearty  lunch, along with a bottle of chilled wine.  Here, relax and enjoy the peaceful solitude, amidst the vastness of unspoiled tussock landscape.  In the afternoon, climb toward the peak of Morley Hill, to experience amazing views of the surrounding countryside.  With around 4 hours in the 'saddle', this horse ride is ideal for beginners to experienced riders. Described by one visitor as “The best fun you can have on 4 legs and the real way to see New Zealand”.  View other visitor's comments.

Half Day Horse Ride:
Ideal for families or couples with limited time.
This scenic horse ride is an excellent alternative to the 'Historic Flecks Hut Horse Ride'.  Many of its features are included; from the native bush trail, amidst an abundance of ferns and shubbery, to divine views of the Southland plain.  Enjoy a light picnic lunch (or morning/afternoon tea) on route. Suitable for beginners to more experienced riders.  Times to suit, allow 3-4 hours duration.  For anyone staying at Beaumont Cottage, this ride is a superb addition to the 'High Country Muster'.

High Country Horseback Muster:
A true high country farming experience.
Assist your Guide to saddle up as you prepare to ride out and join the 'mustering team'.  Once there, help with the gathering (herding) of the sheep, or cattle in the high country. Enjoy off-road  backcountry horseback riding over diverse, hilly terrain. Due to the nature of the activity and the 'untamed natural'' environment,  previous horse riding experience and a good level of fitness is recommended.  Subject to current farm activities.  Contact Lynn for more information.
